Nail Penetration Test
The Nail Penetration Test is considered to be one of the most rigorous ways to test the thermal runway of batteries. This test simulates an internal short circuit of the battery, generally caused by sharp metal objects penetrating the battery in cases such as a serious traffic accident.
The BYD Blade Battery passed this test without emitting fire or smoke, and the surface temperature only reached 30 to 60°C.

The design of the BYD DOLPHIN SURF is a place where function meets fun. The ‘floating roof’ design is combined with a C-pillar design that offers a dot-matrix design inspired by ice crystals. This feature helps to separate the roof from the body of the DOLPHIN SURF, enhancing the ‘floating’ effect. To the rear, full-width LED taillights and rear spoiler add to the sporty look of the BYD DOLPHIN SURF whilst improving aerodynamic efficiency and contributing to excellent driving range. At the front of the model, the headlights feature clean, crisp lines made up of six angled light strips. Daytime-running lights create an overall sharp and sophisticated look that helps you stand out from the crowd.
To the interior, the DOLPHIN SURF offers all the tech features you’d expect from a BYD, with intelligent voice control triggers by a simple ‘Hi BYD’ command. You can access many key functions without having to take your hands off the wheel, such as navigation or air conditioning. Safety is considered in the interior design, with the instrument panel display screen set at just the right height to allow safe operation without distracting the driver from the road ahead.
As with all BYD models, the DOPLHIN SURF is offered with a range of driving assistant systems, such as intelligent cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure assist and intelligent high-beam control. As standard, the BYD DOLPHIN SURF comes with a total of six airbags to the driver and front passenger seats, as well as side curtain airbags and side airbags in the front seats.
